1. Introduction
The Cochise Elementary Association of Parents and Teachers (“Cochise APT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information collected through our website, www.cochiseapt.org (the “Website”), and in connection with our school community activities, memberships, fundraising events, donations, and related services.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, how we use and disclose it, how we protect it, and what choices may be available to you.
Our Website uses Membership Toolkit for certain website and community functions. Payments may be processed through LumaPay, powered by Stripe, or other payment services identified during a transaction. OneCause facilitates our SMS text messaging program for fundraising events.
By using the Website, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required for a particular activity, we will request it as applicable.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with Cochise APT and the Website. It may include the following categories.

Please provide only information that is accurate and that you are authorized to share.
Transaction Information
When you make a donation, purchase, or event registration, we may receive information about the transaction, such as the amount, date, item or event, payment status, and transaction reference.
Payment card details are handled by the applicable payment processor. Cochise APT does not intend to store full payment card details on its own systems.
Technical Information
When you visit the Website, certain information may be collected automatically by the Website platform or its service providers. This may include IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, access times, and related usage information, depending on the services and settings in use.
3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
• Operate and maintain the Website.
• Manage memberships, accounts, and community participation.
• Process donations, purchases, ticket sales, and event registrations.
• Communicate about fundraising events, transactions, and requests.
• Coordinate authorized volunteer activities.
• Administer the fundraising-event SMS program when you have opted in.
• Respond to questions and provide requested assistance.

• Comply with applicable legal, accounting, tax, and reporting requirements.
• Improve our programs, services, and Website.
4. Payments and Payment Processing
We use personal information only for purposes consistent with our nonprofit activities, applicable permissions, and applicable law.
The Website may use Membership Toolkit for website and transaction-related functions. Payments may be processed by LumaPay, powered by Stripe, or another payment provider identified at checkout.
When you make a payment, the applicable provider may collect and process payment card information and related transaction details under its own terms and privacy policy. Cochise APT may receive transaction records needed to reconcile payments, administer registrations, maintain financial records, and fulfill its obligations.
Cochise APT does not intend to store full payment card details on its own systems. The precise information collected and processed depends on the payment method and provider used.
For more information, review the relevant provider’s privacy policy and terms presented during the transaction.
5. SMS Text Messaging and Consent
Cochise APT uses OneCause to facilitate SMS text messages related exclusively to Cochise APT fundraising events.
These messages may include fundraising event announcements, registration and ticket reminders, event updates, and other communications directly related to fundraising events. This SMS program is not intended for general school announcements, membership communications, volunteer reminders, or unrelated promotions.
Information Collected for SMS
If you opt in to receive SMS messages, we may collect:
• Your mobile phone number.
• Your SMS opt-in status and consent record.
• The date and method of consent, where available.
• Information needed to administer your messaging preferences and comply with applicable requirements.
Providing a phone number alone does not constitute consent to receive SMS messages. You must voluntarily opt in through an applicable enrollment process.
Message Frequency and Rates
After you opt in, you will receive a confirmation text message. Message frequency varies depending on fundraising event activity. Message and data rates may apply to messages sent to you and messages you send to us. Contact your wireless provider with questions about your text or data plan.
Opting Out
You may cancel the SMS service at any time by texting STOP to 44834. You will receive a confirmation message after unsubscribing. You will no longer receive messages through the applicable OneCause messaging program unless you opt in again through the enrollment process.
Assistance
For assistance, text HELP to 44834. You may also contact OneCause at support@onecause.com with questions about SMS services provided through its platform.
Carrier Delivery
Message delivery depends on your wireless carrier and other factors outside our control. Service may not be available on every carrier, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed.
SMS Privacy and Restrictions on Sharing
Cochise APT does not sell or rent mobile phone numbers or SMS consent information.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. OneCause may process this information only as necessary to provide and administer SMS messages for Cochise APT fundraising events. OneCause is not authorized to use this information for its own independent marketing purposes through this program.
Any service provider involved in administering SMS messages may process the information only as necessary to perform the relevant service, subject to applicable obligations and restrictions. Such processing does not authorize independent marketing use.
We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to comply with legal obligations or protect rights and safety. These disclosures do not authorize the recipient to use mobile phone numbers or SMS consent information for its own marketing purposes.
6. Email and Other Communications
We may use the contact information you provide to respond to inquiries, confirm transactions, provide event-related information, and communicate about Cochise APT activities.
You may be able to opt out of optional email communications using the unsubscribe instructions included in the message. We may continue to send communications necessary to complete a transaction, administer an account, respond to a request, or meet legal obligations.
SMS consent is separate from email consent. Agreeing to receive text messages does not automatically enroll you in unrelated communications, and providing an email address does not constitute SMS consent.
7. Membership and Community Directories
If membership or community directory features are available through Membership Toolkit or another service, the information displayed and the people permitted to access it may depend on the applicable settings, permissions, and policies.
Please consider what information you choose to provide or make visible. We encourage users to avoid posting sensitive personal information in community directories or other areas accessible to other users.
Cochise APT does not intend to make personal information public beyond the purposes and permissions associated with the relevant service.
8. Events, Fundraising, and Volunteers
We may use information related to event registrations, donations, purchases, and volunteer participation to organize events, manage attendance, coordinate authorized volunteers, issue confirmations, maintain financial records, and communicate event-specific information.
We may share relevant information with authorized volunteers or service providers when reasonably necessary to perform these functions. Access should be limited to the information needed for the assigned task.
SMS information remains subject to the specific restrictions in Section 5 and will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
9. Children’s and Student Information
Cochise APT supports an elementary school community. We recognize the importance of protecting children’s privacy.
Our Website is intended primarily for parents, guardians, adult community members, and other authorized users. We do not intend to knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Website without appropriate authorization or consent where required by law.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s online activity and should not submit children’s personal information unless authorized to do so. Please do not submit student records, sensitive educational information, or other confidential information unless it is necessary and you are authorized to provide it.
If you believe personal information about a child has been submitted improperly, please contact Cochise APT through the Website so the concern can be reviewed.
10. How We Share Information

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services on our behalf, subject to applicable terms and restrictions.
Authorized Volunteers and Representatives
We may provide relevant information to authorized volunteers, officers, or representatives when necessary to administer memberships, fundraising events, donations, registrations, or other Cochise APT activities. Access should be limited to the information needed for the relevant responsibility.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or is necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or the integrity of our services.
SMS Marketing Restriction
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. OneCause may process this information only as necessary to provide and administer Cochise APT’s fundraising-event SMS program. The use of service providers does not permit them to use SMS phone numbers or consent information for independent marketing purposes.

The types of technologies used and the information collected depend on the Website’s configuration and the providers involved. You may be able to manage cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect Website functionality.

12. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Website may link to third-party websites, registration systems, payment providers, or other services. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
Cochise APT does not control the independent privacy or security practices of third parties. We encourage you to review their policies before providing information or completing a transaction.
A link to a third-party service does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of that service or its privacy practices.
13. Data Security
We take reasonable steps appropriate to our role and available resources to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.
We rely on third-party providers for certain Website, payment, and communication functions. Although we seek to work with providers that use appropriate safeguards, no website, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, and applicable requirements. When information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or otherwise handle it appropriately, subject to legal and operational requirements.

Depending on the information and applicable law, you may be able to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.
You may also:

We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting on a request. Some information may need to be retained to satisfy legal obligations, complete transactions, maintain records, or resolve disputes.
16. Arizona and Other Applicable Laws
Cochise APT operates in Arizona and seeks to handle personal information in accordance with applicable federal and Arizona laws. Other laws may apply depending on the circumstances of a particular activity or transaction.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit privacy rights or protections that cannot legally be waived or restricted.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, providers, or legal obligations.
Any revised Policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Website after an update is posted indicates acknowledgment of the revised Policy to the extent permitted by law. Where additional consent is required, we will seek it as applicable.
